Delivering in Kolkata: Local Tips
North and central Kolkata have narrow lanes and old addresses; calling customers for landmarks saves time. New Town and Salt Lake have sector/block addressing that is easier to route.
- Bengali helps a lot with older residential neighbourhoods.
- Plan bridge crossings (Howrah, Vidyasagar Setu) outside peak hours.
- Monsoon waterlogging is common – waterproof the parcels.
- Choose north, south or Howrah-side stations near home.
