Job Summary:

The Senior System Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex IT systems that meet the needs of the organization. This role involves overseeing system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring high availability and security across all systems. The Senior System Engineer will also mentor junior team members and work closely with other departments to support IT initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. System Design and Implementation:
   • Design and deploy scalable, secure, and high-performance IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
   • Collaborate with other engineers and departments to develop system architecture that meets business requirements.
   • Manage the installation, configuration, and integration of new systems and applications.
2. System Administration:
   • Oversee the day-to-day operations of IT systems, ensuring their reliability, security, and efficiency.
   • Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and patch management.
   • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
3. Security Management:
   • Implement and manage security protocols to protect systems and data from unauthorized access, breaches, and other threats.
   • Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.
   • Respond to security incidents and provide root cause analysis and mitigation strategies.
4. Disaster Recovery and Backup:
   • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
   • Manage backup and recovery processes for critical systems and data.
   • Test and refine disaster recovery plans regularly.
5. Technical Support:
   • Provide advanced technical support for complex system issues that cannot be resolved by lower-level support teams.
   • Assist with escalated support requests and serve as the final point of escalation for system-related issues.
   • Work with vendors and service providers to resolve technical problems.
6. Mentorship and Team Leadership:
   • Mentor and guide junior system engineers and IT staff.
   • Provide training and knowledge-sharing sessions to improve team capabilities.
   • Lead project teams in the implementation of new technologies and system upgrades.
7. Documentation and Reporting:
   • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.
   • Prepare and present reports on system performance, security, and project progress to senior management.
   • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in system engineering, administration, or a similar role.
• Strong expertise in operating systems (Windows, Linux, UNIX) and server management.
• Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
• Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Strong understanding of security best practices and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.

• 5+ years of industry experience in interactive design and / or visual design

• Ability to create highly polished design prototypes, mockups, and other communication artifacts
• The ability to scope and estimate efforts accurately and prioritize tasks and goals independently
• History of impacting shipping products with your work
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Design (or related field) or equivalent professional experience
• Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Sketch

Preferred Experience

• Designing user experiences for enterprise software / services
• Creating and applying established design principles and interaction patterns
• Aligning or influencing design thinking with teams working in other geographies

Product Designer

Product knowledge: Deeply understand the technology and features of the product area to which you are assigned.

Research: Provide human and business impact and insights for products.

Deliverables: Create deliverables for your product area (for example competitive analyses, user flows, low fidelity wireframes, high fidelity mockups, prototypes, etc.) that solve real user problems through the user experience.

Communication: Communicate the results of UX activities within your product area to the design team department, cross-functional partners within your product area, and other interested Superformula team members using clear language that simplifies complexity.
